BIO: Elisha Thompson is a yogi, an academic, and a health and wellness speaker. Having completed 400 hours of yoga teacher training, she has extensive knowledge on how to use both physical and mental mindfulness practices to create a healthier environment within the body. Elisha will graduate in May of 2020 with her second Master’s degree, this one on the benefits of mindfulness practices, such as yoga. In her spare time, she loves to travel, spend time with loved one, eat good food, and cuddle with unicorns.
MY CLASS PHILOSOPHY/APPROACH: For many of us, our internal chatter is often negative and full of criticism towards our body, our capabilities, and our self-worth. Not only is negative self-talk exhausting and defeating, but research has shown that it actually inhibits behavior change and personal growth. Yoga for Body Positivity is a vinyasa style class designed to help you reinforce positive thinking and take notice of your strong and beautiful body, mind, and spirit. The goal of this class is to change your mindset and learn how to transform negative thinking into positive thinking. This class is appropriate for all levels.
